Daniel Smith Worried about Sterns Treatment of Anna Before Death

Daniel Smith nearly hired a private investigator to investigate creepy Howard K. Stern because he was worried about how Stern was keeping Anna Nicole Smith a virtual prisoner in the Bahamas, worried that Stern was keeping her drugged up and worried about his control over her like a Svengali.

Daniel wasn’t the only one concerned. Several of Anna’s friends were worried and uncomfortable about Howard’s control over her, but felt there was nothing they could do. Howard prevented Anna’s friends from calling or visiting her.

California private investigator Jack E. Harding said that 20-year-old Daniel came to him with his concerns about Stern’s treatment of his mother. Daniel told Harding he feared his mother was being held “a virtual prisoner” in Bahamas by Stern, who was controlling her like a Svengali.

Harding told the tabloid Globe, ”Daniel felt Stern was keeping her on mind-bending drugs even though she was pregnant (with baby Dannielynn). He feared for his mother’s well-being… and he was angry at being pushed out of his mother’s life.”

Unfortunately, Daniel never went through with his plans to hire a private investigator, then died 3 months later. That’s too bad, because it’s possible that Anna’s and even Daniel’s life could have been saved with outside help looking out for Anna’s best interests.

After Daniel died, Harding felt suspicious and contacted Bahamian authorities with what he knew about Stern. Then after Anna’s death, Harding was left with several unsettling questions and suspicions about Stern.
