Angelina Jolie almost passed on the role that brought her and boyfriend Brad Pitt together because she didn’t like her character in Mr & Mrs Smith. The actress had to be persuaded to take the role by her agent.
She reveals, “I didn’t think it was something I should (do). I didn’t know what I was looking for, but it wasn’t something that obviously spoke to me.”
“I hadn’t done comedy or that kind of action comedy romance (and) I didn’t think I was going to, but I had somebody who was close to me, who read (the script) and said she thought it was great.”
“I trusted the opinion of some people around me who said, ‘If you are ever going to do a comedy, this is probably the best kind for you to get to do. This is fun.’”
Jolie admits it was the thought of being able to shoot the film in Los Angeles and spend time with her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, that eventually made her decide to make the movie.
